CELL GROUPS / BIBLE STUDIES
Cell groups / Bible studies meet on most days during the week, some during the day and others in the evenings. These groups are located in various parts of town and are OPEN to anyone who wishes to join.
They mostly use the Sunday Service themes and cell notes as a basis for discussion and sharing. It is in these groups that people care for each other, grow in their spiritual walk and get to know others in our church community.
If you wish to be part of a Cell Group, please phone the Office and we can help to place you in a group that will meet your needs.
The Alpha Course consists of 15 talks, followed by group discussion, over a ten week period and includes a weekend away. Alpha encourages people to come to Christ as Lord and Saviour and deals with the basic understanding of the Christian Gospel. It is run by lay people who have received the appropriate training and is also non-denominational.
A - Anyone is welcome
L - There is laughter and a relaxed atmosphere
P - For “pasta” because we share a meal together before each session.
H - We help each other understand the gospel.
A - Ask anything. No question is too “ignorant” or “foolish” to be asked.
If you wish to know when the next Alpha course is to be held, please contact the Church Office on 013 753-3214.
A disciple is a learner, believer, follower & proclaimer of Jesus Christ. The Disciple course runs for about a year, is based on an extensive manual and is led by lay people who have received the appropriate training. Disciple is non-denominational and the aim of the course is to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
Participants commit themselves to daily in-depth study of the Bible in preparation for group discussions which help them to be inspired and guided into being servants of God. – Disciple 1, Disciple 2 and Disciple 3 and a Jesus in the Gospels course are offered most years. These courses are open to anyone who wants to understand and be challenged by God’s Word and runs from February to November each year.
