MCSA Ordination 2018
What a wonderful time I had with the Ordinands 2018 as they spend their
last few days in retreat before being Ordained in the Methodist Church of
We stayed at a lovely lodge in Matola (a real little humble oasis in the
midst of the dust, dirt and diversity that Matola is). We had special times
where the Ordinands were able to reflect, cry, laugh, heal and grow.
What a blessing to be part of that process for them. On Saturday we took
them to Conference to be received into Full Connexion and to answer the
all-important questions that one has to answer when becoming a minister in
the Church, such go where the Church sends, not malign the church etc.
After that we were able to spend a little time exploring the Maputo Fish
Market (… I consumed huge amounts of prawns, calamari and soul in my
on the beach… after a few hours of waiting to rehearse the service we went
back to Matola, exhausted.
And then on Sunday was the big day for the Ordinands as we wisked them
back to Maputo University for the special Ordination service. Being
charged by the Presiding Bishop they then were laid hands on and
Ordained before God, Church and Family… very, very special indeed.
What a wonderful time and what a special privilege to be part of as a
Chaplain to the Ordinands. May they each lead our Church forward in
grace, truth and love that stems from God our Eternal Father ~ Michelle
